Crochet with Aabhar – Lacy Shell Stitch
Lacy Shell Crochet Stitch is another variation of the classic Peacock Fan Stitch. The pattern looks like there are repeating ‘tree’ motifs arranged in a brick layout.
Unlike the classic Peacock Fan Stitch, this one is more detailed and a little more complex. The pattern uses dc2tog and dc3tog to decrease crochet stitches along with the basic stitches. Lacy Shell Crochet Stitch is a 10-stitch repeat that is worked over 6 rows to complete a motif.
Lacy Shell Stitch will work beautifully on projects like a lacy scarf, shawls, or summer wraps. It creates a lightweight fabric with a good drape. We recommend using a lace-weight yarn as it will look best with thin yarns.

Foundation ch: (any multiple of 10) + 6, plus 1.
| Row 1 (RS): | * 1sc, ch1, sk 4 ch, 7 tr in next ch, ch1, sk 4 ch; rep from * to last 6 ch, 1sc, ch1, sk 4 ch, 4 tr in next ch, turn. |
| Row 2: | ch3 (counts as a dc), 1dc in next st, ch2, dc2tog in next 2 sts, * 1 tr in next st, dc2tog in next 2 sts, ch2, 1dc in next 3 sts, dc2tog in next 2 sts; rep from * to last st, 1 tr in last st, turn. |
| Row 3: | ch3 (counts as a dc) * ch4, sk 3 sts, dc3tog in next 3 sts, ch4, sk 3 sts, 1dc in next st; rep from * to last 5 sts, ch4, sk 3 sts, dc2tog in last st, turn. |
| Row 4: | Rep Row 1. |
| Row 5: | Rep Row 2. |
| Row 6: | Rep Row 3. |
Repeat Rows 1 – 6 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
