Crochet with Aabhar – Herringbone Single Crochet Stitch
Herringbone Single Crochet Stitch is an elegant, highly textured stitch. It creates a horizontal chevron effect in the fabric and almost mimics a knitting design. This crochet stitch requires skill and concentration as it utilizes some unique stitches.
It’s not a simple stitch, so if you’re a beginner, you should try some other stitches before moving on to this one. Herringbone Single Crochet requires knowledge of reverse stitches which basically involve placing the hook in the stitch in the opposite way than usual. You basically insert the hook in the stitch from the back, pointing towards you. It is a 2-row, single-stitch repeat pattern.
The Herringbone Single Crochet is a versatile stitch that will work in any yarn weight, from super bulky to lightweight. Try not to use fuzzy or textured yarns as they will hide the clean lines of the stitch. You can use it to make beanies, blankets, headbands, and basically any other project, except maybe a scarf!
