Crochet with Aabhar – Cosmos Crochet Stitch

Cosmos crochet stitch is an ornamental stitch that looks like a large open space as the flower center and ‘dc’ stitches making up the delicate petals. It almost looks like the classic Honeycomb crochet stitch, but with larger open spaces.

The pattern repeats over 6 stitches and 4 rows and features the common crochet stitches, including chain, single crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet. It is a relatively easy stitch to learn.

It’s a great stitch to use in large fabric projects such as blankets and shawls.

Pattern Instructions

Foundation ch: (any multiple of 6) + 1, plus 3.

Row 1 (RS):	2dc in 4th ch from hook, * ch4, sk next 5 ch, 5dc in next ch; rep from * to last 6 ch, ch4, sk next 5 ch, 3dc in last ch, turn.
Row 2:	ch3 (counts as 1dc), * [3dc, ch3, 3dc] in next ch4-sp; rep from * to last ch4-sp, 1dc in t-ch, turn.
Row 3:	ch5 (counts as 1tr and ch1), 5dc in 1st ch3-sp, * ch4, 5dc in next ch3-sp; rep from * to last ch3-sp, ch1, 1tr in t-ch, turn.
Row 4:	ch5 (counts as 1tr and ch1), 3dc in 1st ch1-sp, * [3dc, ch3, 3dc] in next ch4-sp; rep from * to. last ch4-sp, 3dc in next ch1-sp, ch1, 1tr in 2nd ch of t-ch, turn.
Row 5:	ch3 (counts as 1dc), 2dc in 1st tr, * ch4, 5dc in next ch3-sp; rep from * to last ch3-sp, ch4, 3dc in 2nd ch of t-ch, turn.

Repeat Rows 2 – 5 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
