Pattern Description
Cornflower stitch is a textured knitting pattern with an offset arrangement of gorgeous ‘cornflower’ motifs resembling a blooming floral field.
The stitch features wrapped-around stitch repetition, which forms a cluster of stitches. With its amazing 3D texture, you can feature it in any knitting home decor project.

Special stitch:
cornflower:
- sl 7 sts knitwise to right needle dropping extra loops.
- sl these 7 sts back to left needle.
- sl 4 sts together knitwise to right needle.
- twist these 4 sts and sl them back to left needle.
- [k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1] into all 7 sts together through back loop (This replaces the original group of 7 sts with a new group of 7 sts).
Pattern Instructions
CO (Multiple of 10 stitches) + 3 stitches. For example, you can cast on (10 x 2) + 3 = 23 stitches to knit a sample swatch.
Row 1 (RS): | Knit. |
Row 2: | p3, * p7 wrapping yarn twice on each st, p3; rep from * to end. |
Row 3: | k3, * cornflower, k3; rep from * to end. |
Row 4: | Purl. |
Row 5: | k3, * p7, k3; rep from * to end. |
Row 6: | Purl. |
Row 7: | Purl. |
Row 8: | p8, * p7 wrapping yarn twice around each st, p3; rep from * to last 5 sts, p5. |
Row 9: | k8, * cornflower, k3; rep from * to last 5 sts, k5. |
Row 10: | Purl. |
Row 11: | k8, * p7, k3; rep from * to last 5 sts, k5. |
Row 12: | Purl. |
