Knit with Aabhar – Cornflower Stitch Pattern

Pattern Description

Cornflower stitch is a textured knitting pattern with an offset arrangement of gorgeous ‘cornflower’ motifs resembling a blooming floral field.

The stitch features wrapped-around stitch repetition, which forms a cluster of stitches. With its amazing 3D texture, you can feature it in any knitting home decor project.

This free knitting pattern is written in US terms. You can also check out other common knitting abbreviations. 

CO	Cast on
k	Knit
p	Purl
rep	Repeat
RS	Right side
sl	Slip
st (s)	Stitch (es)
WS	Wrong side
yo	Yarn over

Special stitch:

cornflower:

1. sl 7 sts knitwise to right needle dropping extra loops.
2. sl these 7 sts back to left needle.
3. sl 4 sts together knitwise to right needle.
4. twist these 4 sts and sl them back to left needle.
5. [k1, yo, k1, yo, k1, yo, k1] into all 7 sts together through back loop (This replaces the original group of 7 sts with a new group of 7 sts).

Pattern Instructions

CO (Multiple of 10 stitches) + 3 stitches. For example, you can cast on (10 x 2) + 3 = 23 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	Knit.
Row 2:	p3, * p7 wrapping yarn twice on each st, p3; rep from * to end.
Row 3:	k3, * cornflower, k3; rep from * to end.
Row 4:	Purl.
Row 5:	k3, * p7, k3; rep from * to end.
Row 6:	Purl.
Row 7:	Purl.
Row 8:	p8, * p7 wrapping yarn twice around each st, p3; rep from * to last 5 sts, p5.
Row 9:	k8, * cornflower, k3; rep from * to last 5 sts, k5.
Row 10:	Purl.
Row 11:	k8, * p7, k3; rep from * to last 5 sts, k5.
Row 12:	Purl.
