Waffle Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar
Waffle Stitch is a wonderfully textured stitch that looks so much like our breakfast favorite! It creates a fabric that is quite soft and squishy.
If you are familiar with double crochets and front post double crochet along with single chains, you will be able to master the Waffle Crochet Stitch in no time! The post stitches create raised edges that make the whole fabric appear like a waffle. The pattern alternates between the two rows and a set of stitches in multiples of 3. You can alternate the two rows until you reach the desired length.
The Waffle Crochet Stitch works great with any type of yarn and different yarn sizes, so it will look great in most projects. Be it waffle stitch scarves or waffle stitch blankets, you will find plenty of interesting projects to try the Waffle Stitch. It is also an excellent yarn buster stitch that uses up quite a lot of yarn.

Pattern Instructions
Foundation ch: (any multiple of 3) + 2, plus 3 beg ch.
| Row 1 (WS): | 1dc in 4th ch from hook, * 1dc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn. |
| Row 2: | ch2 (counts as 1dc), * 1fpdc in next st, 1dc in next 2 sts; rep from * to last 2 sts, 1fpdc in next st, 1dc in t-ch, turn. |
| Row 3: | ch2 (counts as 1dc), * 1dc in next st, 1fpdc in the next 2 sts; rep from * to last 2 sts, 1dc in next st, 1dc in t-ch, turn. |
Repeat Rows 2 & 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
