Crochet with Aabhar – Front and Back Loop Single Crochet Stitch
Front and Back Loop Single Crochet Stitch is a simple crochet pattern that uses basic stitches to create a lovely textured fabric. It is quite similar to the Alternate Single Crochet Stitch as it alternates between the front and back loop crochet stitches.
In the Front and Back Loop Single Crochet Stitch, the pattern involves alternating rows of the front loop (flo) and back loop (blo) single crochet stitches. In Alternate Single Crochet Stitch, on the other hand, the flo and blo stitches have an alternate stitch placement in the same row. The stitch is worked over by repeating a single row with a 2-stitch repeat.
The textures created by this stitch are much more subtle than if you were making only blo single crochet or even Alternate Single Crochet stitches. It basically creates ridges with alternating rows. You can enhance the textural effect by working each row in different colors. It’s an excellent choice for making projects like afghans and scarves.

Pattern Instructions
Foundation ch: any number of stitches.
| Row 1: | 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1sc in each st across, turn. |
| Row 2: | ch1 (does not count as a st), 1sc flo in each st across, turn. |
| Row 3: | ch1 (does not count as a st), 1sc blo in each st across, turn. |
Repeat Rows 2-3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
