Crochet with Aabhar – Ribbed Chevron Crochet Stitch

Ribbed Chevron Crochet Stitch is a simple, beginner-friendly stitch that is easy to learn even if you are a newbie. It is a modern twist on the classic crochet ripple stitch. The chevron pattern is an ideal step forward if you are already familiar with the basic crochet stitches.

The stitch involves the single crochet stitch primarily, so you will be able to master the Ribbed Chevron Crochet Stitch in no time. There are 16 stitches in each chevron, and the whole pattern is a repeat of one single row of the pattern instruction (Row 2).

A chevron pattern involves the basic rise and fall of stitches. There are many different variations of this stitch, for example, chevron with single crochet stitches (as shown here) or double crochet chevron. It’s a great pattern to customize as you can increase the number of stitches between each valley and peak of the chevron to give it a sharper rise and fall.

Ribbed Chevron Crochet Stitch creates a textured fabric that has a little stiffness but still has a good drape. As it creates ridges of single crochet in each row, you can change colors to give your project a vibrant appearance. Usually, you will find this stitch in projects like blankets and afghans.
