Oval Cable Stitch Pattern | Knit with Aabhar
Pattern Description
Oval Cable Stitch Pattern is a unique cable knitting pattern that looks like oval boxes roped and stacked together with cables. It uses different from usual cable stitches, i.e., C3L and C3R. There are three stitches in the cable, and they cross left and right in the case of Cable 3 Left (C3L) and Cable 3 Right (C3R), respectively.
It’s a universal pattern perfect for knitting sweaters, hats, and blankets. Oval Cable Stitch Pattern is a unisex knitting pattern that will work for men’s and women’s wearables.

Making cable stitches without using a cable needle:
C2F (Cable 2 Front) –
- Slip next stitch off the left needle, hold it in front of work
- Transfer next stitch from left needle to right needle
- Pick up the slipped stitch on the left needle
- Transfer the stitch from right needle back to left needle
- Knit both the stitches
C3R (Cross 3 Right) โ
- Slip next 2 stitches off the left needle, hold them in back of work
- Transfer next stitch from left needle to right needle
- Pick up the 2 slipped stitches on the left needle
- Transfer the stitch from right needle back to left needle
- Knit all 3 stitches
C3L (Cross 3 Left) โ
- Slip next stitch off the left needle, hold it in front of work
- Transfer next 2 stitches from left needle to right needle
- Pick up the slipped stitch on left needle
- Transfer the 2 stitches from right needle back to left needle
- Knit all 3 stitches
