Open Chain Ribbing Stitch Pattern gives a feminine twist to the conventional rib by adding some lace-like eyelet elements. Unlike the traditional rib pattern, this one has much more texture.

Open Chain Ribbing Stitch will work nicely in scarves, wraps, and even blankets. As it has a nice lacey appearance, it will also look lovely as an overall pattern in summer afghans.

CO Multiple of 6 + 2.

Row 1:	(WS) – k2, * p4, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 2:	p2, * k2tog, yo twice, sl 1, k1, psso, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 3:	k2, * p1, purl into front of 1st yo, purl into back of 2nd yo, p1, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 4:	p2, * yon, sl 1, k1, psso, k2tog, yfrn, p2; rep from * to end.

Repeat this free knit pattern (4 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
