Ladder Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar

Crochet Ladder Stitch, also known as 4×4 crochet ribbing stitch, is a highly textured crochet pattern with soft feel.

Worked over 8 stitch repeats and 2 rows, it uses post stitches (fpdc and bpdc) and the usual crochet stitches that include chain and double crochet.

beg	beginning
ch	chain
bpdc	back post double crochet
dc	double crochet
fpdc	front post double crochet
rep	repeat
st (s)	stitch (es)
t-ch	turning chain

Pattern Instructions

---

Foundation ch: (Multiple of 8 ch) + 5 ch, plus 3 beg ch.
For example, start with (8 x 2) + 5 + 3 = 24 ch for a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	1dc in 4th ch from hook, * 1dc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 2:	ch3 (counts as 1dc), * 1fpdc in next 4 sts, 1bpdc in next 4 sts; rep from * to t-ch, 1dc in top of t-ch, turn.
Row 3:	ch3 (counts as 1dc), * 1bpdc in next 4 sts, 1fpdc in next 4 sts; rep from * to t-ch, 1dc in top of t-ch, turn.

Repeat Rows 2 & 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
