Crochet with Aabhar – Honeycomb Puff Crochet Stitch
Honeycomb Puff Crochet Stitch is not like the most ‘honeycomb’ patterns out there. Unlike the flat hexagonal shaped motifs, Honeycomb Puff is a much denser and highly textured crochet stitch. In place of the usual flat, two-dimensional honeycombs or hexagons, this one has three-dimensional embossed motifs.
Just like most other cluster stitches, Honeycomb Puff is also made by working a cluster into a background of single crochet. Unlike the usual clusters, they are directly worked into the base fabric, rather than a chain space. A crochet cluster stitch is where a number of stitches are placed next to each other and then are linked at the top. Each of the stacking shapes is slightly offset from the previous row, creating a nice, tightly packed grid of Honeycomb Puffs.
Honeycomb Puff Crochet Stitch is worked by working on three stitches over two repeating rows of instructions. It is not a reversible crochet stitch but creates a highly textured fabric that feels a bit dense and stiff.
