Knit with Aabhar – Garter Rib Stitch Pattern

Pattern Description

Garter Rib Stitch is another variation of the garter rib knitting patterns (like the Garter Stitch Twisted Rib). It has very defining vertical lines that give the knitted fabric a sleeker appearance. It has a nice texture and creates a reversible fabric. This is one of the easiest ribbing patterns, alternating two stitches of knits and purls, making it a 2 Stitch Garter Rib.

As the knitted fabric is the same on both sides, it will be a great pattern to knit a scarf. Unlike most other ribbing patterns, it does not curl much. You can also use it to make cuffs and edges of wearables.

k	Knit

rep	Repeat
RS	Right side

Pattern Instructions

CO a (Multiple of 4 sts) + 2 sts. For example, you can cast on (5 x 4) + 2 = 22 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	k2, * p2, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 2:	* k2, p2; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2.

Repeat these free knitting pattern instructions (Rows 1 & 2) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
