Knit with Aabhar – English Rib Stitch Pattern
Pattern Description
English Rib Stitch is a common knitting pattern where you knit double stitches to get a clear striped pattern in your work. Essentially, you see columns of knit stitches created with a combination of slipped stitches and yarn overs. It is also commonly referred to as Brioche Knitting Technique.
There can be multiple variations of this stitch by changing the number of stitches you knit between the stripes. What is common in all these variations is that the stripes are always double stitches with yarn overs.
The English Rib Knitting Pattern creates a textured fabric that’s thicker and bulky. The pattern creates stripes on both sides. It’s a great pattern for knitting scarves, cowls, beanies, and jumpers. While using this pattern, one thing to note is that it uses more yarn than a simple rib pattern, so plan your projects accordingly.
