
Cocoon (Pod) Stitch Pattern | Knit with Aabhar
Pattern Description
The Cocoon (Pod) Stitch knitting pattern features regular raised embossed seed or bobble-like shapes nestled between the wavy stitches. It combines different types of knitting techniques, including bobbles, increases, decreases, ribbing, and reverse stockinette stitches.
You can knit this pattern with any type of yarn; it even looks gorgeous in a bulky yarn. The textured knitting pattern is perfect for many projects, ranging from wearables like cowls to home decor projects like cushion covers.

Special stitches:
m1 (Make one) – insert the left needle into the loop between the purl st and knit st from front, lift it on the left needle as a stitch, then knit it.
dec-5 (Decrease 5) – sl 2, p3tog, psso.
Pattern Instructions
CO (Multiple of 8 stitches) + 1 stitch. For example, you can cast on (8 x 3) + 1 = 25 stitches to knit a sample swatch.
Row 1 (WS): | p1, * k1, p1, k5, p1; rep from * to end. |
Row 2: | k1, * p5, k1, p1, k1; rep from * to end. |
Row 3: | p1, * m1, (k1, p1, k1) in next st, m1, p1, dec-5, p1; rep from * to end. |
Row 4: | k1, * p1, k1, p5, k1; rep from * to end. |
Row 5: | p1, * k5, p1, k1, p1; rep from * to end. |
Row 6: | Rep Row 4. |
Row 7: | Rep Row 5. |
Row 8: | Rep Row 4. |
Row 9: | p1, * dec-5, p1, m1, (k1, p1, k1) in next st, m1, p1; rep from * to end. |
