Pattern Description
Braided Lace Cable knitting stitch is a highly textured pattern featuring braided cables with eyelets between the braids. It almost resembles opened seed pods with eyelets representing seeds. Although the pattern looks complex, it is quite simple, made with only basic knitting stitches.
You can feature this knitting stitch pattern in various home decor projects like cushion covers, and more.

Making cable stitch without using a cable needle:
C4F (Cable 4 Front, also called 2/2 Left Cross (2/2 LC))-
- Slip next 2 stitches off the left needle, hold them in front of work
- Transfer next 2 stitches from left needle to right needle
- Pick up the 2 slipped stitches on the left needle
- Transfer the 2 stitches from right needle back to left needle
- Knit all 4 stitches
Pattern Instructions
CO (Multiple of 12 sts) + 8 sts. For example, you can cast on (12 x 2) + 8 = 32 stitches to knit a sample swatch.
Row 1 (RS): | p2, * k2, yo, ssk, p2; rep from * to end. |
Row 2: | k2, * p2, yo, p2tog, k2; rep from * to end. |
Row 3: | Rep Row 1. |
Row 4: | Rep Row 2. |
Row 5: | p2, * C4F, p2, k2, yo, ssk, p2; rep from * to last 6 sts, C4F, p2. |
Row 6: | Rep Row 2. |
Row 7: | Rep Row 1. |
Row 8: | Rep Row 2. |
Row 9: | Rep Row 1. |
Row 10: | Rep Row 2. |
Row 11: | p2, * k2, yo, ssk, p2, C4F, p2; rep from * to last 6 sts, k2, yo, ssk, p2. |
