Crochet with Aabhar – Block Lace Stitch

Block Lace crochet stitch is a vintage stitch with an appearance that is similar to columns of stacked boxes. There are a few variations of this stitch with a varying number of treble stitches.

It is a 4-row repeat crochet stitch that is very easy to learn. Each lacy block motif repeats over 6 stitches. The crocheted pattern looks similar on both sides and is suited for any type of yarn.

Block Lace stitch can work well in projects like decorative bedsheets, baby blankets, or different types of shawls. Using a sturdy yarn, you can make a market bag like any other mesh crochet pattern.

Foundation ch: (any multiple of 5) + 3, plus 5.

Row 1 (RS):	1tr in 8th ch from hook, 1tr in next 2 ch, * ch3, sk next 2 ch, 1tr in next 3 ch; rep from * to last 3 ch, sk next 2 ch, 1tr in last ch, turn.
Row 2:	ch1, 3sc in next ch-sp, * ch3, sk next 3 tr, 3sc in next ch-sp; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 3:	ch4, * sk next 3 sc, 3sc in next ch-sp, ch3; rep from * to last ch-sp, 1sc in t-ch, turn.
Row 4:	ch1, 3sc in next ch-sp, * ch3, sk next 3 sc, 3sc in next ch-sp; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 5:	ch5, sk next 3 sc, 3tr in next ch-sp, * ch3, sk next 3 sc, 3tr in next ch-sp; rep from * to last ch-sp, ch2, sk next 3sc, 1tr in t-ch, turn.

Repeat Rows 2 – 5 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
