It is a super easy, 1-row repeating pattern that creates a lightweight and breathable fabric that is perfect for making market bags, afghans, and scarves.

This free pattern is written using US crochet terms.
|st (s)||stitch (es)|
Foundation ch: (any multiple of 2), plus 4.
|Row 1 (RS):||1dc in 5th ch from hook, * ch1, 1dc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn.|
|Row 2:||ch4, * 1dc in next ch1-sp, ch1; rep from * to last st, 1dc in 4th ch of t-ch, turn.|
|Row 3:||ch4, sk next dc, 1dc in next ch1-sp, * ch1, 1dc in next ch1-sp; rep from * to end, turn.|
Repeat Rows 2 & 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
