For example, start with (16 x 2) + 2 + 3 = 35 ch for a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	Starting in 4th from the hook, 1dc3tog over next 3 ch, 1dc in next 5 ch, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch, * 1dc in next 5 ch, 1dc5tog over next 5 ch, 1dc in next 5 ch, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in next ch; rep from * to last 9 ch, 1dc in next 5 ch, 1dc3tog over next 3 ch, 1dc in last ch, turn.
Row 2:	ch2 (counts as 1sc), 1fpsc around 1st dc3tog st, 1fpsc around next 7 dc, * ch2, 1fpsc around next 7 dc, 1fpsc around dc5tog, 1fpsc around next 7 dc; rep from * to last 8 sts and t-ch, ch2, 1fpsc around next 7 dc, 1fpsc around dc3tog, 1sc in t-ch, turn.
