Pattern Description

Alternating Fern is an all-over lace, leaf-motif knitting pattern with yarn overs and skip stitches. It’s another variation of leaf and fern knitting pattern, like the Fern Diamonds and Leaf Panel.

The knitting pattern has quite a bit of autumnal vibes and will appear best in large fabric such as throws, blankets, and afghans.

CO (Multiple of 16 sts) + 2 edge sts. For example, you can cast on (16 x 2) + 2 = 34 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	edge st, * k9, yo, k1, yo, k3, sskp; rep from * to last st, edge st.
Row 2:	Purl.
Row 3:	edge st, * k10, yo, k1, yo, k2, sskp; rep from * to last st, edge st.
Row 4:	Purl.
Row 5:	edge st, * k3tog, k4, yo, k1, yo, k3, yo, k1, yo, k1, sskp; rep from * to last st, edge st.
Row 6:	Purl.
Row 7:	edge st, * k3tog, k3, yo, k1, yo, k9, sskp; rep from * to last st, edge st.
Row 8:	Purl.
Row 9:	edge st, * k3tog, k2, yo, k1, yo, k10, sskp; rep from * to last st, edge st.
Row 10:	Purl.
