Pattern Description

Embossed Check is knit and purl knitting pattern but with a twist. The knits and purls are made through back loop which gives it a little bit of textured appearance.

You can try making sweaters and other wearables with this knitting stitch as it turns out pretty well.

There are variations of this stitch where you can use multiple colors and it completely changes the way knitted fabric looks. You can use it to make beanies, bottle cozy, and more.

k	Knit
KB1	Knit into back of next stitch
p	Purl
PB1	Purl into back of next stitch
rep	Repeat
RS	Right side
st (s)	Stitch (es)
WS	Wrong side

Pattern Instructions

CO (Multiple of 2 stitches) + 1 stitch. For example, you can cast on (2 x 10) + 1 = 21 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	* KB1; rep from * to end.
Row 2:	k1, * PB1, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 3:	p1, * KB1, p1; rep from * to end.
Row 4:	Rep Row 2.
Row 5:	Rep Row 1.
Row 6:	PB1, * k1, PB1; rep from * to end.
Row 7:	KB1, * p1, KB1; rep from * to end.
Row 8:	Rep Row 6.

Repeat this free knit pattern (8 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
