Wide Spiral Cable Rib Stitch is another mock cable ribbing pattern with small twisting cables in columns creating spirals. The mock cable is made with basically a variation of knit two together stitch (k2tog). Unlike the 1×1 cable, it is much easier once you get a hang of it.

Repeating every 4 rows, this knitting pattern can suit projects such as beanies, scarves, and even pullovers.

CO	Cast on
k	Knit
k2tog	Knit 2 stitches together
p	Purl
rep	Repeat
RS	Right side
st (s)	Stitch (es)
WS	Wrong side

Special stitch:

ext-k2tog (extended k2tog):

1. k2tog
2. without slipping from left needle, knit 1st stitch again.
3. slip both stitches off left needle.

Pattern Instructions

CO (Multiple of 6 sts) + 2 sts. For example, you can cast on (6 x 4) + 2 = 26 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (WS):	k2, * p4, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 2:	p2, * [ext-k2tog] x 2 times, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 3:	Rep Row 1.
Row 4:	p2, * k1, [ext-k2tog], k1, p2; rep from * to end.
