Solid Shell Crochet Stitch is one of the simplest patterns that creates repeating rows of seashells arranged like a brick wall. It just uses single crochet (sc) and double crochet (dc) stitches which means that once you master the basics, you can make this fancy crochet stitch in any of your projects.
This stitch is also popular as Scallop or Open Scallop Crochet Stitch. It is a good stitch for creating wavy edging in your projects. Overall, it creates a fabric with solid texture and almost no holes.
It is one of the simplest shell patterns amongst the other shell stitch variations in crochet. You can either work it in rows by repeating the 2nd and 3rd rows or simply make a border with one repeat.
