Pattern Description

Layette Stitch Pattern is an all-over lace knitting pattern with a shape that looks like tiny eyes. Although it is an all-over lace, it gives a nice texture to the fabric. You can also make it at the borders as unlike most other lace patterns, it does not curl on itself. It is not a reversible pattern.

Each repeating unit has two eyelets at the bottom, followed by knitting three stitches together in the 7th row. It is also known as the ‘Twisted Openwork Stitch.’

The Layette Stitch Pattern is an excellent choice of knitting pattern for making baby sweaters, cardigans, baby blankets, and even scarves.

CO multiple of 4 + 1.

Row 1:	(RS) – k2, * p1, k3; rep from * to last 3 sts, p1, k2.
Row 2:	p2, * k1, p3; rep from * to last 3 sts, k1, p2.
Row 3:	k2tog, yo, * p1, yo, k3tog, yo; rep from * to last 3 sts, p1, yo, k2tog.
Row 4:	k1, * p3, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 5:	p1, * k3, p1; rep from * to end.
Row 6:	Rep Row 4.
Row 7:	p1 * yo, k3tog, yo, p1; rep from * to end.
Row 8:	Rep Row 2.

Repeat this free knit pattern (8 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
