Chevron Seed Stitch is a simple 4-row repeat knitting pattern that creates a textured fabric. It only uses the basic knit and purl stitches, so if you’re a beginner, this will be a great stitch to expand your portfolio of knitting skills.
The seed stitches are arranged in a chevron design on a stockinette stitch background with a raised horizontal zig zag texture. It can also be referred to as a Single Chevron Stitch, as a single line of seed stitches goes up and down in the chevron waves.
Chevron Seed Stitch is an easy pattern that is perfect to knit up a scarf, blanket, or pillow. The stitch will also look great on the edge of cuffs or details on pockets and such. It is not a reversible pattern, and the two sides look completely different.
