Bubble Knitting Stitch | Knit with Aabhar

Pattern Description

The Bubble Stitch is highly textured, 3D knitting pattern featuring offset arrangement of bubble-like motifs all across.

Although it looks simple, it does involve a tricky stitch (k4b – knit 4 below) which essentially gives the knitted fabric a bubble-like texture. But, once you get a hang of it, most other rows are basic stockinette stitch. The stitch is perfect for different projects like market bag, beanies, cushions, and many more.

This free knitting pattern is written in US terms. You can also check out other common knitting abbreviations. 

CO	Cast on
k	Knit
p	Purl
rep	Repeat
RS	Right side
st (s)	Stitch (es)
WS	Wrong side

Special stitches:

k4b (knit 4 below):

1. drop next stitch off left needle and unravel 4 rows down
2. insert right needle in stitch in the 5th row down and under the 4 loose strands
3. knit this stitch, catching the 4 loose strands behind the stitch.

Pattern Instructions

CO (Multiple of 4 sts) + 3 sts. For example, you can cast on (4 x 5) + 3 = 23 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (WS):	Purl.
Row 2:	Knit.
Row 3:	Purl.
Row 4:	Knit.
Row 5:	Purl.
Row 6:	k3, * k4b, k3; rep from * to end.
Row 7:	Purl.
Row 8:	Knit.
Row 9:	Purl.
Row 10:	Knit.
Row 11:	Purl.
Row 12:	k1, * k4b, k3; rep from * to last 2 sts, k4b, k1.

Repeat these free knitting pattern instructions (12 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
