Woven Shells Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar
Woven Shells crochet stitch pattern features double crochet shells arranged in an interlocking or offset pattern. While the shells are connected making a solid shape, they leave out large diamond-shaped open spaces. As a result, the crocheted fabric is fluffy and airy.
The pattern repeats over 6 stitches and 2 rows. And, while it features only double crochet and chain stitches, the way it is made is a bit more than that.

Pattern Instructions
Foundation ch: (Multiple of 6) + 1, plus 3 beg ch.
For example, start with (6 x 4) + 1 + 3 = 28 ch for a sample swatch.
Note: You can make this in one color or go for as many colors as you want. For a colorful version like ours, switch to a different color yarn after every 2 rows.
| Row 1 (RS): | Starting in 4th from the hook, 1dc3tog over next 3 ch, * ch7, 1dc6tog over next 6 ch; rep from * to last 4 ch, ch7, 1dc4tog over last 4 ch, turn. |
| Row 2: | ch3 (counts as 1dc), * 6dc in ch4 of next ch7-sp; rep from * to t-ch, 1dc in t-ch, turn. |
| Row 3: | ch3 (counts as 1dc), 1dc3tog over next 3 dc, * ch7, 1dc6tog over next 6 dc; rep from * to last 3 dc and t-ch, ch7, 1dc4tog over last 3 dc and t-ch, turn. |
Repeat Rows 2 & 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
