Textured Waves Crochet Stitch is a variation of the classic crochet shell stitch separated by rows of single crochet stitches. There is a lot of back loop crocheting in this pattern which makes it perfect for intermediate beginners.

This crochet pattern is a four-row, 10-stitch repeat that creates a highly textured fabric. Each motif appears like bunch of waves.

Pattern Instructions

Foundation ch: (Multiple of 10) + 1, plus 3 beg ch.
For example, start with (2 x 10) + 1 + 3 = 24 ch for a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	2dc in 4th ch from hook, * sk next 2 ch, 1sc in next 5 ch, sk next 2 ch, 5dc in next ch; rep from * to last 10 sts, sk next 2 ch, 1sc in next 5 ch, sk next 2 ch, 3dc in last ch, turn.
Row 2:	ch1, 1sc blo in 1st st, * 1sc blo in next st; rep from * to t-ch, 1sc blo in t-ch, turn.
Row 3:	ch1, 1sc blo in 1st sc, 1sc blo in next 2 sc, * sk next 2 sc, 5dc blo in next sc, sk next 2 sc, 1sc blo in next 5 sc; rep from * to last 8 sc, sk next 2 sc, 5dc blo in next sc, sk next 2 sc, 1sc blo in last 3 sc, turn.
Row 4:	Rep Row 2.
Row 5:	ch3 (counts as 1dc), 2dc blo in 1st sc, * sk next 2 sc, 1sc blo in next 5 sc, sk next 2 sc, 5dc blo in next sc; rep from * to last 10 sc, sk next 2 sc, 1sc blo in next 5 sc, sk next 2 sc, 3dc blo in last sc, turn.

Repeat Rows 2 – 5 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
