k	Knit
p	Purl
rep	Repeat
RS	Right side

CO a multiple of 3 stitches. For example, you can cast on 3 x 9 = 27 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	Knit.
Row 2:	Purl.
Row 3:	Knit.
Row 4:	Purl.
Row 5:	k1, * p1, k2; rep from * to last 2 sts, p1, k1.
Row 6:	p1, * k1, p2; rep from * to last 2 sts, k1, p1.
Row 7:	Rep Row 5.
Row 8:	Rep Row 6.
Row 9:	* p2, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 10:	* p1, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 11:	Rep Row 9.
Row 12:	Rep Row 10.
