Knit with Aabhar – Lacy Star Stitch Pattern
Pattern Description
Lacy Star Stitch knitting pattern is a super easy pattern, perfect for beginners who want to diversify their knitting portfolio with a lace pattern. As the name suggests, it features repeating staggered motifs of star-shaped eyelets all over the stockinette stitch fabric. It is also popular with the name ‘Snowflake Eyelets’ or ‘Snowflake Lace’ as the eyelet motif resembles snowflakes.
It is slightly challenging, and the instructions may look complicated at first glance; however, it consists of basic knitting stitches along with simple yarn overs, slipped stitches, and decreased stitches in the form of k2tog and ssk. Other than these, p2sso is the only new addition, basically slipping 2 stitches from the left to the right needle, knitting the next stitch, and passing the slipped stitches back over the knitted stitch, thereby reducing the number of stitches by 2.
The Lacy Star Stitch can be worked with any yarn, but it will look the best in a fine-weight yarn as the eyelets and all the stitches are clear. As the eyelets are featured on a background of stockinette stitches, you can consider adding some extra stitches as the knitted fabric will curl onto itself. This lace knitting pattern is perfect for projects such as light shawls, wraps, and scarves.
