Interlocking Shells Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar

Interlocking Shells crochet stitch is a gorgeous pattern with a unique arrangement of ‘shell-motifs.’ Each shell-like cluster of stitches is positioned over the space between the fans in the previous row. It creates a dense, scalloped textured fabric. 

The pattern repeats over 2 rows and 8 stitches with scalloped or wavy edges at the top and the bottom. The decorative crochet pattern is perfect for making projects like table cloths, runners, or anything with hanging edge.

Pattern Instructions

Foundation ch: (Multiple of 8) + 1, plus 4 beg ch.
For example, start with (8 x 3) + 1 + 4 = 29 ch for a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	1dc in 7th ch from hook, * ch1, sk next ch, 1dc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 2:	ch3 (counts as 1dc), 3dc in same st, * dc7tog over next 7 sts (ch1-sp, dc, ch1-sp, dc, ch1-sp, dc * ch1-sp), 7dc in next dc; rep from * to t-ch, 4dc in 2ch of t-ch, turn.
Row 3:	ch4 (counts as 1dc and ch1), sk next dc, 1dc in next dc, * ch1, sk next st, 1dc in next st; rep from * to end, making the last dc in t-ch, turn.

Repeat Rows 2 & 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
