Diamond Lattice Stitch Pattern | Knit with Aabhar

Pattern Description


Diamond Lattice Stitch Pattern is an interesting knitting pattern featuring cable stitches creating a lattice of diamond-shaped motifs. The pattern looks complex, but it’s just a combination of knit and purls with two basic cable stitches, C2F and C2B.

If you are starting out with cable stitches, it’s a great pattern to try, as it is unique and looks elegant.

Diamond Lattice Stitch Pattern is an all-over textured pattern you can knit in projects such as blankets and jackets.

Making cable stitches without using a cable needle:

C2B (Cable 2 Back)

  1. Slip next stitch off the left needle, hold it in back of work
  2. Transfer next stitch from left needle to right needle
  3. Pick up the slipped stitch on the left needle
  4. Transfer the stitch from right needle back to left needle
  5. Knit both the stitches

C2F (Cable 2 Front)

  1. Slip next stitch off the left needle, hold it in front of work
  2. Transfer next stitch from left needle to right needle
  3. Pick up the slipped stitch on the left needle
  4. Transfer the stitch from right needle back to left needle
  5. Knit both the stitches

CO Multiple of 8.

Setup Row:(WS) – Purl.
Row 1:* k2, C2B, C2F, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 2:* p2, sl 1, p2, sl 1, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 3:* k1, C2B, k2, C2F, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 4:* p1, sl 1, p4, sl 1, p1; rep from * to end.
Row 5:* C2B, k4, C2F; rep from * to end.
Row 6:* sl 1, p6, sl 1; rep from * to end.
Row 7:* C2F, k4, C2B; rep from * to end.
Row 8:Rep Row 4.
Row 9:* k1, C2F, k2, C2B, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 10:Rep Row 2.
Row 11:* k2, C2F, C2B, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 12:* p3, sl 2, p3; rep from * to end.

Repeat this free knit pattern (12 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
