Diagonal Rib is a rib knitting pattern where the stitches are placed in a diagonal arrangement by moving them slightly. With this ribbing, you can have your knitted fabric lay flat without curling.

It’s an easy stitch made with knits and purls, perfect for making scarves and pillow covers. And it’s a reversible pattern!

CO a multiple of 4 stitches. For example, you can cast on 4 x 6 = 24 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	* k2, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 2:	Rep Row 1.
Row 3:	k1, * p2, k2; rep from * to last 3 sts, p2, k1.
Row 4:	p1, * k2, p2; rep from * to last 3 sts, k2, p1.
Row 5:	* p2, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 6:	Rep Row 5.
Row 7:	Rep Row 4.
Row 8:	Rep Row 3.

Repeat these free knitting pattern instructions (8 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
