Criss Cross Chain Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar

Criss Cross Chain crochet stitch features a lattice-like network of chains making up an elegant piece of crocheted fabric. The finished piece is quite airy but sturdy.

This pattern essentially is all about crocheting chains, except at the end of the row where you’ve to make a treble crochet to match up with the pattern height. The Criss Cross Chain motif repeats over 6 stitches and 4 rows.

Foundation ch: (Multiple of 6) + 2, plus 1 beg ch.
For example, start with (6 x 3) + 2 + 1 = 21 ch for a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	1sc in 2nd ch from hook, * 1 [sc-with-loop] in next ch, ch4, sk next 4 ch, 1 [sc-with-loop] in next ch; rep from * to last ch, 1sc in last ch, turn.
Row 2:	ch7 (counts as 1tr and ch3), * 1sc in next 2 ch9-loops, ch4; rep from * to last 2 ch9-loops, 1sc in last 2 ch9-loops, ch2, 1tr in last sc, turn.
Row 3:	ch1, 1sc in 1st tr, ch2, 1 [sc-with-loop] in next sc, * 1 [sc-with-loop] in next sc, ch4, 1 [sc-with-loop] in next sc; rep from * to last sc, 1sc in next sc, ch2, 1sc in t-ch, turn.
