Size of Finished Coaster
The finished Christmas Flower Coaster measures 4.5″ (11.5 cm) in diameter.
Materials
- 4.5 mm (US 7) crochet hook from Clover
- Any worsted weight (medium / #4 / 8-ply) cotton yarn in the color of your choice. We used Red Heart Super Saver in Cherry Red & White colors.
- Tapestry needle to weave in the ends
- Scissors
Gauge
10 sts = 2.75″ (or 7.0 cm) in single crochet stitches.

Pattern
Round 1: With White yarn, starting with a magic ring, ch 4 (counts as a dc ch 1), (dc, ch 1) into the ring 9 more times, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch 4. Pull and close the magic ring tightly. Fasten off. (10 dc, 10 single ch-sp)
Round 2: Join Red yarn in next ch-sp with a sl st, ch 2, hdc3tog in same ch-sp, ch 2, * hdc3tog in next ch-sp, ch 2; rep from * to last st, sl st into top of 1st hdc3tog st. Fasten off. (10 hdc3tog, 20 ch-sp)
Round 3: Join White yarn in any ch-sp with a sl st, ch 3, 2dc in same ch-sp, ch 1, * 3dc in next ch-sp, ch 1; rep from * to last st, sl st into top of beg ch 3. Fasten off. (30 dc, 10 ch-sp)
Round 4: Join Red yarn on top of the ch 3 from prev rnd, ch 1, sc into same st, ch 3, sc into same st (this forms a decorative petal-like shape), sk next st, * (sc, ch 3, sc) into next st, sk next st; rep from * to last st, sl st into 1st sc. Fasten off. (20 petals)
Weave in all the ends and trim the loose yarn. The bright red & white Christmas coaster is ready!
