Candle Flame knitting stitch is a cable knitting pattern featuring motifs that resemble its namesake. While there are many other knitting patterns with the same name, this one does not have any eyelets. It’s a well-knitted fabric, perfect for any winter wearable.

This Candle Flame knitting stitch is a relatively easier cable pattern as out of the 8 rows, only 4 are distinctive, others are simply repeats.

This free knitting pattern is written in US terms. You can also check out other common knitting abbreviations. 

CO	Cast on
C2F	Cross 2 Front (sl 1 to CN, hold in back, k1, k1 from CN)
k	Knit
p	Purl
RS	Right side
st (s)	Stitch (es)
WS	Wrong side

Making cable stitches without using a cable needle:

C2F (Cross 2 Front):

1. Knit into front of second stitch on left needle.
2. Knit the first stitch.
3. Slip both stitches off the left needle together.

Pattern Instructions

CO (Multiple of 4 stitches) + 2 stitches (a minimum of 10 stitches). For example, you can cast on (4 x 6) + 2 = 26 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	k2, * p2, k2; rep from * to end.
Row 2:	p2, * k2, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 3:	k2, * p2, C2F; rep from * to last 4 sts, p2, k2.
Row 4:	Rep Row 2.
Row 5:	Rep Row 2.
Row 6:	Rep Row 1.
Row 7:	p2, * C2F, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 8:	Rep Row 1.

Repeat these free knitting pattern instructions (8 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
