dtr	double treble crochet
prev	previous

Special stitches:

dtr-cross-v (double treble crochet cross v-stitch) –

1. sk 1st sc.
2. sk next 3 sc, 1dtr in next sc.
3. 1tr in the 3 skipped sc behind the dtr made in step 2.
4. ch1.
5. 1tr in next 3 sc.
6. 1dtr in same sc as prev dtr made in step 2, crossing in front of the 3 tr sts made in step 5 by inserting the hook from back to front of the work.

Pattern Instructions

Foundation ch: (Multiple of 9) + 2, plus 1 beg ch.
For example, start with (9 x 3) + 2 + 1 = 30 ch for a sample swatch.

Row 1 (WS):	1sc in 2nd ch from hook, * 1sc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 2:	ch4 (counts as 1tr), * 1 x [dtr-cross-v] over next 9 sc; rep from * to last sc, 1tr in last sc, turn.
Row 3:	ch1, 1sc in 1st tr, * 1sc in next dtr, 1sc in next 3 tr, 1sc in next ch1-sp, 1sc in next 3 tr, 1sc in next dtr; rep from * to t-ch, 1sc in t-ch, turn.

Repeat Rows 2 & 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
