Pattern Description

Knotted Rib Knitting Stitch, very similar to the Knotted Cords stitch, where stitches increase in one row and decrease back to the starting number in the second one. The raised columns look like twisted stitches, giving an embossed spiral or diagonal effect.

CO	Cast on
k	Knit
p	Purl
p2tog	Purl 2 stitches together
rep	Repeat
RS	Right side
st (s)	Stitch (es)
WS	Wrong side

Special stitch

kfb: Knit into front and back of next st.

Pattern Instructions

CO a multiple of 5 stitches (a minimum of 10 stitches). For example, you can cast on 5 x 5 = 25 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Note: Stitches should only be counted after the 2nd row of the pattern.

Row 1 (RS):	p2, * kfb, p4; rep from * to last 3 sts, kfb, p2.
Row 2:	k2, * p2tog, k4; rep from * to last 4 sts, p2tog, k2.

Repeat these free knitting pattern instructions (2 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
