Interlocking Blocks Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar
Interlocking Blocks crochet stitch is a very nicely textured pattern with repeating double crochet blocks arranged in an offset manner. The crochet fabric is warm and soft as the stitches are crocheted on the previous row.
The pattern repeats over 4 stitches and 2 rows, and features only the basic crochet stitches – chain, single crochet, and double crochet. Because of how the fabric feels, the Interlocking Blocks stitch is perfect for making warm blankets.

Pattern Instructions
Foundation ch: (Multiple of 4) + 3, plus 3 beg ch.
For example, start with (4 x 5) + 3 + 3 = 26 ch for a sample swatch.
| Row 1 (RS): | [Color A] 1dc in 4th ch from hook, 1dc in next ch, * ch2, sk next 2 ch, 1dc in next 2 ch; rep from * to last ch, 1dc in last ch, turn. |
| Row 2: | [Color A] ch1, 1sc in 1st dc, ch2, sk next 2 dc, * 1dc in next 2 ch in foundation row, ch2, sk next 2 dc; rep from * to t-ch, 1sc in t-ch, turn. Change to Color B. |
| Row 3: | [Color B] ch3, 1dc in next 2 dc 2 rows below, * ch2, sk next 2 dc, 1dc in next 2 dc 2 rows below; rep from * to last sc, 1dc in last sc, turn. |
| Row 4: | [Color B] ch1, 1sc in 1st dc, ch2, sk next 2 dc, * 1dc in next 2 dc 2 rows below, ch2, sk next 2 dc; rep from * to t-ch, 1sc in t-ch, turn. Change to Color A. |
Repeat Rows 3 & 4 in the appropriate colors of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
