Pattern Instructions

CO multiple of 8 sts for the panel and a few extra on both sides to make up the stockinette st background. For example, you can cast on 4 (background) + 8 (panel) + 4 (background) = 16 stitches for a sample swatch. 

Row 1 of Panel (RS):	k1, [k2tog, yo] 3 times, k1.
Row 2 of Panel:	Purl.
Row 3 of Panel:	k2, [k2tog, yo] twice, k2.
Row 4 of Panel:	Purl.

Repeat these free knitting pattern instructions (4 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
