Check knitting stitch is a simple pattern with checkerboard-like appearance made with knits and purls. Its unique texture comes from ridges created in third row.
The geometric pattern can be used in variety of projects such as pullovers, scarves, and even washcloths.

CO (Multiple of 3 sts) + 1 st. For example, you can cast on (3 x 6) + 1 = 25 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

| Row 2: | Purl. |
| Row 3: | k1, * p2, k1; rep from * to end. |
| Row 4: | Purl. |
