Triangle Trellis Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar
Triangle Trellis crochet stitch is visually similar to the Trellis Lace Knitting Stitch, but that’s where the similarity ends. The motifs look like wedged triangles with one side propped up giving the crocheted fabric quite a bit of texture.
The crochet pattern repeats over 4 rows and 4 stitches. Despite looking complex, it is made using the basic crochet stitches – chain, sc, and dc.

Special stitch:
top-sc: 1sc in 1st sc made around the post of dc at the top of the triangle shape made by previous row.
triangle-st: 1dc in indicated st, ch1, 3sc around the post of 1dc just made, sl st in same sc as 1dc.
Pattern Instructions
Foundation ch: (Multiple of 3) + 2, plus 1 beg ch.
For example, start with (3 x 7) + 2 + 1 = 24 ch for a sample swatch.
| Row 1 (WS): | 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, * 1sc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn. |
| Row 2: | ch1, 1sc in 1st sc, sl st in next sc, * ch2, sk next 2 sc, triangle-st in next sc; rep from * to end, turn. |
| Row 3: | ch5 (counts as 1dc and ch2), top-sc in next triangle-st, * ch3, top-sc in next triangle-st; rep from * to last triangle-st, ch2, 1dc in last sc, turn. |
| Row 4: | ch3, triangle-st in next sc, * ch2, triangle-st in next sc; rep from * to last sc, ch3, 1dc in t-ch, turn. |
| Row 5: | ch1, 1sc in 1st dc, * ch3, top-sc in next triangle-st; rep from * to last triangle-st, 1sc in t-ch, turn. |
| Row 6: | ch1, 1sc in 1st sc, sl st in next sc, * ch2, triangle-st in next sc; rep from * to end, turn. |
Repeat Rows 3 – 6 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
