CO a multiple of 2 stitches (minimum 4 sts). For example, you can cast on 2 x 11 = 22 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):k1, * yo, k2tog tbl; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 2:p1, * yo, p2tog; rep from * to last st, p1.

Repeat this free knit pattern (2 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
