Swirly Cone Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar

Swirly Cone crochet stitch creates little bumpy cone shapes that stand out with resulting thick and soft fabric. It is perfect for keeping warm.

The texture comes from the way rows are stacked. You first make three simple rows of single crochet as foundation. And then the magic happens in the fourth row. You go back and pull yarn from the three rows below to create a puffy texture. The pattern repeats every four rows, building a cozy, uniform design.

You can use this stitch to make cozy blankets or scarves. Keep in mind though, It is a yarn-intensive stitch. It will take a lot of yarn, especially for larger projects like scarves or blankets.

Special stitch:

cone-st:

1. Yarn over, insert hook in indicated st & pull up a loop [3 loops on hook].
2. Yarn over, insert hook in the st one row below the indicated st & pull up a loop [5 loops on hook].
3. Yarn over, insert hook in the st two rows below the indicated st & pull up a loop [7 loops on hook].
4. Yarn over & pull through all 7 loops on hook.

Pattern Instructions

Foundation ch: any number of ch.
For example, start with 22 ch for a sample swatch.

Row 1 (WS):	1sc in 2nd ch from hook, * 1sc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 2:	ch1, 1sc in 1st sc, * 1sc in next sc; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 3:	Rep Row 3.
Row 4:	ch1, 1sc in 1st sc, * 1 [cone-st]; rep from * to last sc, 1sc in last sc, turn.
Row 5:	ch1, 1sc in 1st sc, * 1sc in next cone-st; rep from * to last sc, 1sc in last sc, turn.
Row 6:	Rep Row 2.

Repeat Rows 3 – 6 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
