Reversible Alpine Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar
Reversible Alpine is a variation of the classic Alpine stitch, but with a symmetrical appearance on both sides. This one also uses front post and back post treble crochet stitch to create the textured peaks in the pattern. On the other hand, Alpine stitch just uses front post double crochet stitch.
The pattern repeats over 4 rows and each motif is just 2 stitches wide. Reversible Alpine crochet stitch is perfect for projects where both sides of the fabric may be visible, like scarves.

Pattern Instructions
Foundation ch: (Multiple of 2) + 2, plus 2 beg ch.
For example, start with (2 x 10) + 2 + 2 = 24 ch for a sample swatch.
| Row 1 (WS): | 1dc in 3rd ch from hook, 1dc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn. |
| Row 2: | ch1, 1sc in 1st st, * 1sc in next st; rep from * to end, turn. |
| Row 3: | ch1, 1hdc in 1st sc, * 1fptr in next dc 2 rows below, 1bptr in next dc 2 rows below; rep from * to last, 1hdc in last st, turn. |
| Row 4: | Rep Row 2. |
| Row 5: | ch1, 1hdc in 1st sc, * 1bptr in next fptr 2 rows below, 1fptr in next bptr 2 rows below; rep from * to last, 1hdc in last st, turn. |
| Row 6: | Rep Row 2. |
| Row 7: | ch1, 1hdc in 1st sc, * 1fptr in next bptr 2 rows below, 1bptr in next fptr 2 rows below; rep from * to last, 1hdc in last st, turn. |
Repeat Rows 4 – 7 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
