Arched Shell Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar
Arched Shell is another variation of the classic ‘Shell’ crochet stitch, with prominent arches made over each shell using single crochet stitches. The shells are offset from each other and there are no open spaces in between. The crocheted fabric is quite dense but flexible.
It is a simple crochet pattern that repeats over 4 rows and each motif is 14 stitches long.

Pattern Instructions
Foundation ch: (Multiple of 14) + 9, plus 1 beg ch.
For example, start with (14 x 1) + 9 + 1 = 24 ch for a sample swatch.
| Row 1 (RS): | [Color A] 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, * 1sc in next 7 ch, sk next 3 ch, 7dc in next ch, sk next 3 ch; rep from * to last 8 ch, 1sc in last 8 ch, turn. |
| Row 2: | [Color A] ch1, 1sc in 1st st, * 1sc in next st; rep from * to end, turn. |
| Row 3: | [Color B] ch1, 1sc in 1st st, sk next 3 sc, 7dc in next sc, sk next 3 sc, * 1sc in next 7 sc, sk next 3 sc, 7dc in next sc, sk next 3 sc; rep from * to last sc, 1sc in last sc, turn. |
| Row 4: | [Color B] Rep Row 2. |
| Row 5: | [Color A] ch1, 1sc in 1st sc, * 1sc in next 7 sc, sk next 3 sc, 7dc in next sc, sk next 3 sc; rep from * to last 8 sc, 1sc in last 8 sc, turn. |

Repeat Rows 3 – 6 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
