Track Crochet Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar
Track Crochet Stitch or the Railroad stitch looks a whole lot like a set of train tracks running in parallel. It features basic crochet stitches and double treble crochet to make a lightly textured fabric. There are minimal holes in the crocheted fabric and is perfect for making warm blankets.
It’s not reversible pattern but you can see prominent horizontal lines on both sides. The vertical rails are visible only on the front side. You can choose to highlight the horizontal striping using different colors.

Pattern Instructions
Foundation ch: any number of chains, plus 1 beg ch.
For example, start with 20 + 1 = 21 ch for a sample swatch.
| Row 1 (RS): | 1sc in 2nd ch from hook, * 1sc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn. |
| Row 2: | ch5 (counts as 1dtr), * 1dtr in next sc; rep from * to end, turn. |
| Row 3: | ch1, 1sc in 1st dtr, * 1sc in next dtr; rep from * to t-ch, 1sc in t-ch, turn. |
| Row 4: | ch1, 1sc in 1st sc, * 1sc in next sc; rep from * to end, turn. |
| Row 5: | Rep Row 4. |
Repeat Rows 2 – 5 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
