Pattern Description

Speckle Rib is a simple knit and purl knitting stitch pattern with tiny specks of yarn popping over to give it a nice texture. Despite the name suggesting a rib pattern, it is not one in the traditional sense.

There are variations of this stitch where you can use multiple colors and it completely changes the way knitted fabric looks. You can use it to make beanies, bottle cozy, and more.

CO	Cast on
k	Knit
p	Purl
rep	Repeat
RS	Right side
sl	Slip stitch
st (s)	Stitch (es)
WS	Wrong side
wyif	With yarn in front

Pattern Instructions

CO (Multiple of 2 stitches) + 1 stitch. For example, you can cast on (2 x 10) + 1 = 21 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	Knit.
Row 2:	Purl.
Row 3:	k1, * sl 1 purlwise, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 4:	k1, * sl 1 purlwise wyif, k1; rep from * to end.
Row 5:	Knit.
Row 6:	Purl.
Row 7:	k2, * sl 1 purlwise, k1; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 8:	k2, * sl 1 purlwise wyif, k1; rep from * to last st, k1.

Repeat this free knit pattern (8 rows) until you have reached the desired length for your work.
