Lacy Eyelet Shell crochet stitch pattern forms rows of shell clusters arranged in an open, airy design. The staggered arrangement of the shells give the fabric a structured yet delicate texture. Pattern Instructions
Foundation ch: (Multiple of 5) + 1, plus 3 beg ch.
For example, start with (5 x 5) + 1 + 3 = 29 ch for a sample swatch.
| Row 1 (RS): | [1dc, ch3, 1dc] in 6th ch from hook, * sk next 4 ch, [1dc, ch3, 1dc] in next ch; rep from * to last 3 ch, sk next 2 ch, 1dc in last ch, turn. |
| Row 2: | ch3 (counts as 1dc), * 5dc in next ch3-sp; rep from * to t-ch, 1dc in t-ch, turn. |
| Row 3: | ch3 (counts as 1dc), sk next 2 dc, [1dc, ch3, 1dc] in next dc, * sk next 4 dc, [1dc, ch3, 1dc] in next dc; rep from * to last 3 sts, sk next 2 dc, 1dc in t-ch, turn. |
Repeat Rows 2 & 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
