CO a multiple of 8 stitches. For example, you can cast on 8 x 3 = 24 stitches to knit a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	* k1, yo, pass 3rd st on right needle over first 2 sts; rep from * to end.
Row 2:	Purl.
Row 3:	Knit.
Row 4:	Purl.
Row 5:	k3, * yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k6; rep from * to last 5 sts, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k3.
Row 6:	Purl.
Row 7:	k2, * [yo, sl 1, k1, psso] x 2 times, k4; rep from * to last 6 sts, [yo, sl 1, k1, psso] x 2 times, k2.
Row 8:	Purl.
Row 9:	k1, * [yo, sl 1, k1, psso] x 3 times, k2; rep from * to last 7 sts, [yo, sl 1, k1, psso] x 3 times, k1.
Row 10:	Purl.
Row 11:	Rep Row 7.
Row 12:	Purl.
Row 13:	Rep Row 5.
Row 14:	Purl.
Row 15:	Knit.
Row 16:	Purl.
