Crochet Garter Stitch | Crochet with Aabhar

Garter stitch is not just a knitting thing! You can make the garter stitch using just a hook. And it’s easy peasy. All you need to know to make the Crochet Garter stitch is chains and slip stitch. The pattern repeats over 1 stitch and 2 rows.

The only catch here is unlike the knit garter stitch, which is reversible, the Crochet Garter stitch is one sided.

beg	beginning
ch	chain
blo	back loop only
flo	front loop only
rep	repeat
sc	single crochet
sk	skip
sl st	slip stitch
st (s)	stitch (es)

Pattern Instructions

Foundation ch: any number of chains, plus 1 beg ch.
For example, start with 20 + 1 = 21 ch for a sample swatch.

Row 1 (RS):	1 sl st in 2nd ch from hook, * 1 sl st in next ch; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 2:	ch1, 1 sl st flo in 1st sc, * 1sl st flo in next sc; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 3:	ch1, 1 sl st blo in 1st sc, * 1sl st blo in next sc; rep from * to end, turn.

Repeat Rows 2 & 3 of this free crochet stitch pattern until you have reached the desired length for your work.
